ABOUT
HAZEL’S

What started as a small gathering of fiber crafters, has quickly grown into a quest for a yarn store, and crafting space.

In February 2025, I began a small meet-up for fiber crafters called the “fiber flock”. I would find people knitting or crocheting in the cafe I worked at, or in various public spaces, and ask them if they wanted to join. The club quickly grew, and as of June 2025, has 50 members!

I recognized a need, both for a space for fiber crafters to gather, but also a need in the Buffalo area for natural fiber yarns. With the closure of big craft stores nation-wide, and a desire for fiber crafters to have access to supplies and community, little seeds of ideas began to be planted. What sprouted was Hazel’s Yarn, a third space for fiber crafters!

OUR YARNS.

all natural

Hazel’s yarn will focus on natural fibers. We will work to source yarn from small businesses, hand dyers, local producers, as well as yarns that are more difficult to find in the Buffalo area.

Natural fiber yarns are those from plants (cotton, linen, etc) or animals (wool, alpaca, mohair, etc). While they can sometimes cost more compared to synthetic materials, they are more environmentally sustainable than synthetic fibers.
